OUR SERVICES

Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Our Paediatric Occupational Therapist specialises in helping children and parents navigate the unique challenges of childhood development.

We work with children with

•Autism
•Cerebral palsy
•Developmental delays
•Sensory processing disorders
•Learning difficulties

To improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and help them reach their developmental milestones.

The children’s occupational therapist will also work closely with the child’s family to give guidance on how to create the best environment for the child to thrive.

Timely Support for Those Crucial Early Years

Early intervention is key for children’s occupational therapy, as the earliest years are when their brains and bodies are most receptive to influence and training.

This is why we aim to provide our paediatric occupational therapy service as soon as possible, as opposed to many months of wait.

The sooner we can begin working with your child in therapy, the greater the opportunity to nurture their development and ensure their comfort and happiness.

How Our Paediatric OT Can Help

✅ Autism

Occupational therapy can be invaluable for children all across the autism spectrum, to help them achieve fulfilling and independent lives.

Our Paediatric OT can help children with the various aspects of life with autism, including:

•Socialisation and communication
•Sensory issues
•Motor planning, coordination and posture
•Emotional regulation
•Cognitive skills

✅Cerebral Palsy

Our paediatrics OT employs various evidence-based approaches to improve the child’s well-being and foster independence as the child grows. This includes:

•Exercises to improve the child’s strength, mobility and motor skills
•Teaching the child adaptive methods for performing day-to-day tasks
•Recommending adaptive devices to best support the child’s physical development

✅Developmental Delays

Occupational therapy actively helps children with developmental delays enhance their cognitive abilities, practical skills, and confidence.

Our paediatric occupational therapy can achieve this through:

•Using play-based learning activities to encourage cognitive development
•Practising day-to-day tasks that require hand-eye-coordination (e.g. writing, using utensils)
•Building confidence in their ability to communicate and interact with their peers

✅Sensory Processing Disorder

Does your child frequently seem overwhelmed by the world around them? Or do you notice that they seem to not perceive stimuli very well, making them more susceptible to accidents?

Our paediatric OT can help identify if the child has Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and, through therapy, help make the sensory world easier to navigate for the child.

✅Learning Difficulties

Our paediatric OT will employ science-supported strategies to improve a child’s key skills such as problem-solving, memory, and attention.

The child’s OT will take a personalised approach that addresses the child’s specific difficulties, and any other motor or sensory challenges that may impact their learning.
